David has served as Lead Pastor at Calvary for 9 years. He is a product of the ministry of Calvary. Having grown up here under the leadership of his father, Lacy Frye, he joined the ministry team in 1997 as a student pastor. David graduated from Trinity Baptist College in ’97, he has served as an assistant pastor and then became co-pastor for two years before his father retired in 2006. He met his wife Tana in 2000, when her family joined CBC. They have been married for 14 years now and have 4 children: Savannah, Micah, Sarah and Malachi. David is passionate about preaching the Word and helping people discover a deeper relationship with Christ. He enjoys watching Tarheel basketball, running, and spending time with his family. David loves dogs; cats…not so much!
Adult Education & Assimilation Pastor
Jon Strouse grew up in a small town outside of Cincinnati, OH. He first had the desire for full-time ministry while attending First Baptist Church of Milford, OH as a teenager. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Pensacola Christian College, where he also met his wife, Leigh Ellen. They have been married since 1998 and have 2 young boys, Jacob and Jackson.
Jon has had a variety of both ministry and secular experience, which includes working with Youth, Worship, Sunday School, Outreach, and Assimilation, as well as Banking, Marketing, Business Development, Web Design, and Bookkeeping.
He first joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in January 2003 as Pastor of Education and Outreach. In October 2005, he began working with a good friend in the start of his business, which primarily served churches in North Carolina. He rejoined the Pastoral Staff of Calvary in January 2012, where he now serves as Pastor of Adult Education & Assimilation.
Pastor of Students and Connections
Daniel is originally originally from Danville, VA. where he was a financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments. He felt the call to ministry in 2006 and uprooted his life and went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. There he earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Biblical Studies and Missions in 2010. During his time there, he met his wife, Hannah, and had three children (Sophia, Faith, and Jacob).
Since college, Daniel has served as a tentmaker working in the secular world while serving a local church plant in a pastoral role. He joined the pastoral staff at Calvary in February of 2015 as the Pastor of Students and Communications.
His passion is for teens and missions; but in his spare time he loves to BBQ, fish, and hang out with his family and friends.
