David has served as Lead Pastor at Calvary for 11 years. He is a product of the ministry of Calvary. Having grown up here under the leadership of his father, Lacy Frye, he joined the ministry team in 1997 as student pastor. David graduated from Trinity Baptist College in ’97 and received his masters from Trinity in 2014. He has served as an assistant pastor and then became co-pastor for two years before his father retired in 2006. He and his wife, Tana, were married in 2001 and have 4 children: Savannah, Micah, Sarah and Malachi. David is passionate about preaching the Word and helping people discover a deeper relationship with Christ. He enjoys watching Tarheel basketball, running, and spending time with his family. David loves dogs; cats…not so much!
Administrative & Small Group Pastor
Jon Strouse grew up in a small town outside of Cincinnati, OH. He first had the desire for full-time ministry while attending First Baptist Church of Milford, OH as a teenager. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Pensacola Christian College, where he also met his wife, Leigh Ellen. They have been married since 1998 and have 2 young boys, Jacob and Jackson.
Jon has had a variety of both ministry and secular experience, which includes working with Youth, Worship, Sunday School, Outreach, and Assimilation, as well as Banking, Marketing, Business Development, Web Design, and Bookkeeping.
He first joined the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in January 2003 as Pastor of Education and Outreach. In October 2005, he began working with a good friend in the start of his business, which primarily served churches in North Carolina. He rejoined the Pastoral Staff of Calvary in January 2012, where he now serves as Pastor of Adult Education & Assimilation.
Corbett Casteen grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. He became a follower of Christ at a young age, but it wasn’t until he was in college that he sensed God calling him into pastoral ministry. Corbett received a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries with a Pastoral Leadership focus from Liberty University. He also currently attends Liberty University School of Divinity where he is nearing the completion of a Master of Arts in Religion in Biblical Studies. Corbett met his wife Kimberlyn while attending Liberty and they were married in August of 2016.
Corbett is passionate about preaching the Word of God and helping students understand how to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. He joined the Pastoral Staff of Calvary in June of 2016, where he now serves as Student Pastor.
